port GmbH is already known as supplier of technology for communication software and in electric drives. Now another customer is trusting on the company's competence in a extensive project.

To be flexibly as possible, at different communication protocols mapped with a broadly common hardware, the manufacturer of motion controllers and drives decided to the FPGA-based solution »Port Unified Data Interface« (PUDIN) from port. Whether EtherCAT, CANopen or POWERLINK: Only one basic hardware with a FPGA as the core represents a unified hardware and software interface via a DP-RAM. This universal communication module abstracts the specifics of each bus protocol, so the customer can concentrate fully on its core competencies in the control of motors. The unified API PUDIN takes care of the rest.
